Taking care of the therapist

A unique retreat for women therapists in Greece.

With Ruth Ben-Asher and Maty Lieblich

Now in its third year, this retreat offers a unique opportunity for healing, release, and renewal in a setting of natural beauty, spaciousness, and freedom. Guided by two highly experienced teachers, it brings together diverse approaches and practices that support deep personal transformation.

We invite you to set aside time for yourself and enter a space of reflection, rest, and nourishment. Together, we will create a supportive environment for exploring and processing the personal and professional experiences that have emerged through the challenging and complex years we have been living through.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is intended for women aged 30 and above who work in the therapeutic professions, including psychologists, psychiatrists, body-oriented and integrative therapists, social workers, and arts therapists.

A professional training invoice suitable for tax purposes will be issued, and payment may be made in up to five installments.

About the Workshop

This retreat is a guided inner journey, offering practices that cultivate awareness, stability, emotional regulation, resilience, nourishment, and connection to inner sources of inspiration, wisdom, and growth.

The retreat weaves together two complementary fields of practice: trauma-informed therapeutic work led by Ruth Ben-Asher, and Buddhist teachings and mindfulness practice led by Maty Lieblich.

As therapists and caregivers, we often carry the experiences of those we support long after our workday has ended—both consciously and unconsciously. Over time, this can lead to secondary traumatization and emotional depletion.

Traumatic experiences leave their imprint on the whole human organism—body, mind, consciousness, and spirit. Whether visible or hidden from awareness, these imprints can continue to manifest as emotional and physical symptoms when left unprocessed.

This unique retreat offers a space for compassion, healing, transformation, and renewal. It invites us to reconnect with a sense of vitality, meaning, and well-being—essential foundations for sustaining ourselves in both our personal and professional lives.

Throughout the retreat, we will engage in meditation and mindful inquiry, exploring what is unfolding within our bodies and minds through sensations, emotions, and thoughts. These practices help expand our capacity to be present with experience and strengthen our inner resources.

We will encounter teachings, symbols, and perspectives drawn from the Buddhist tradition that offer fresh ways of relating to our experiences. Together, the meditations and practices create opportunities for deep grounding, connection to inner strengths, and the discovery of greater ease, peace, and freedom within life as it is.

Our time together will include individual reflection, relational and group processes, and gentle, attentive practices involving breath, movement, touch, voice, guided sitting meditations, nature-based exploration, and periods of silence.

Each day will also include time for rest and personal space. Optional activities may include visits to the sea (via shared taxi at a modest additional cost), mountain walks, and leisurely walks to the nearby village, where participants can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and local tavernas.

The retreat is limited to 28 participants and is intended for women actively engaged in therapeutic work, whether in private practice, institutions, or non-profit organizations. Participants are expected to have some prior experience with mindfulness or meditation practice.

Women who have attended previous retreats have shared that they returned home feeling renewed and energized, more deeply connected to themselves, and enriched by meaningful insights and perspectives. Testimonials can be found further down this page.
